Do you know that in 1950 Gwendolyn Brooks was the first African-American awarded a Pulitzer Prize for poetry? In 1960 Harper Lee won the Pulitizer Prize for a  Park favorite: To Kill a Mockingbird. On the technology front, back in 1964 the first BASIC program ran on a computer at Dartmouth.
